All the biggest and most well known peaks including Kanchanjunga , Siniolchu and Knagchengyau are located in North Sikkim. Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang Valley and Gurudongmar Lake have become most popular tourist destinations in the last few years but newer areas are opening up every year with the growing road network. Mangan provides an ideal base for tourists who want to go on package tour or those who want their tour custom made to suit their interest. It makes sense to spend the most time in the best tourist spot.

1. The Ringhim Monastery: It is a twenty minutes drive from the main town. The 150 years old monastery has good views of Mount Kangchenjunga, a presiding deity and is famous for its colorful festivals and religious dances.
2. The Ringhim Viewpoint: It has a magnificent view of the meandering Teesta River and the surrounding countryside. It is also the site of the Ringhim helipad.
3. Mangan Bazar: Mangan Bazar established in 1903, during Younghusband’s tour of North Sikkim, the old bazaar is of historic value.
4. The Pakshep Viewpoint: This viewpoint located around three kilometers north of the town on the National Highway. The Pakshep viewpoint provides the best views of the Eastern face of the Kangchenjunga range, especially at sunrise. Satyajit Ray and Hooker are some of the travelers who have tried to capture this view in different mediums.
5. Namprikdang: It is located about twenty minutes drive from Mangan is the Lepcha Reservation of Dzongu. Near its entrance, has a forest Bungalow, a fishing spot and a small Lepcha Museum. These are located on a river terrace at the confluence of the Teesta and the Tholung river.
6. The Rangrang Bridge: This bridge is situated 8 Km South of Mangan, on the Gangtok Mangan Highway, is the highest bridge in India. The height of the bridge above the surface of the stream is about 90 meters ( a twenty seven story skyscraper would fit under this bridge). The old suspension bridge has been abandoned for a newer concrete cantilever bridge.
7. Lingza Waterfall: Lingza Waterfall and home stays in a Dzongu village to sample local Lepcha cultures are popular with tourists.
8. Short Trek : Ringhim – Kale – Samatake
